And we’re ready for the off – note the beautiful sunny morning we are leaving behind in warwickshire! Nev, me and Gary all washed, buffed and polished ready for our Welsh adventure
I’m loving the way all the roads are so empty – as long as you don’t look in your wing mirrors!!
Camp number 1 – all set up in Bala – under the watchful eyes of many camp dwellers – we decided for the sun canopy/pop up tent and bunting option – decided we need a mat of some sort
Scenes from Bala – next time Gary says we’ll go for a short bike ride check what he means by short- Bala lake it turns out has quite a lengthy circumference! at least I was given a restorative gin at the far end
On Monday we departed for Port Meirion – such a pretty and quirky place – nice shop – excellent food and 1 bay spotted in the car park
And the day ended setting up camp number 2 at ‘The willows’ near Abersoch – not in Abersoch as expected! Awning and wind break time
Lotus grill performing well under all conditions
A really sunny day in Abersoch and at Aberdaron
Surf kayaking with the National Trust at Aberdaron and Nev becomes a great hanging rack
Views of Whistling sands beach a really pretty bay with a good cafe altho a bit of a hike back up to the loos
Walking the cliffs from Aberdaron
Camp number 3 – in a slightly wetter Beddgelert – no frippery this time – awning plain and simples
Not sure how these people sleep with the noise of all this water?
The view on the way home from Betwys Coed – we needed a days retail therapy and swallow falls were pretty altho had to pay £1.50 to see them through a turnstile – not so romantic!
Nev performed well – and even though we ended the holiday in heavy rain we had a great time in Wales and are going forward to visiting again. Just need to get the tent dry now!
